SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Degree in Chemistry or related field; Quality qualification a plus
  • 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and data analysis skills
  • Proficient in SAP and Microsoft Office; excellent communication skills
  • Team player with autonomy, attention to detail, and customer focus
Responsibilities

YOUR ROLE:

This is a 12-month contract to join the Operations team at the highly automated Dulux Merrifield site in Mickleham as the Quality Control Support Chemist on afternoon shift from 2:30-10:30pm and help the team to continue to deliver a world-class product that exceeds customer expectations.
In this factory support role, based in our Quality Control lab, you’ll be our go-to person for day-to-day quality control queries or issues on site. You’ll be assisting and coaching our quality control operators in the site-specific quality control process.
You will also be proactively supporting all quality-based continuous improvement projects on site as well as maintaining the compliance and accreditation requirements (ISO and APAS) through internal auditing and equipment calibrations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain and improve quality systems, procedures, and ISO compliance documentation
  • Analyse process data to enhance testing regimes and operational standards
  • Provide QC training and develop supporting documents for afternoon shift staff
  • Manage lab sampling, testing, and reporting to ensure product compliance
  • Support safety, customer complaint investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives
