Description

SUMMARY

This is a hands-on inspector responsible for performing material inspections using a variety of measuring instruments, assisting with calibration of instruments, participating in non-conformance program, and supporting validation and other quality engineering and manufacturing projects. Requires attention to detail and knowledge of GD&T and basic blueprint reading, GDP, and compliance to ISO 13485-based Quality Systems.

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Use of measuring equipment for inspections including calipers, hand-held micrometers, optical comparators, vision systems, profilometer.
  2. Blueprint Reading and GD&T training required.
  3. Knowledge of Nonconformance processes, CAPA, and Root Cause Analysis, GDP, and Quality Management Systems.
  4. Ability to read, listen and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Organized and detail oriented.

  5. Use of Microsoft Office applications, data entry and retrieval, ERP systems in certain modules

  • Willingness to continually work beyond scope of essential duties to assist whenever and wherever needed to ensure needs are met.
  1. Ability to lift and maneuver up to 20 pounds regularly (larger weights may require assistance).

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum 3 years in product quality inspection in a manufacturing environment. ISO 13485 knowledge a plus.

EDUCATION:

Associate’s degree or work equivalent required. Additional relevant education or formal training preferred

Responsibilities
  1. Inspection of materials at incoming, in-process, and final product, staging product for inspection, and material release, and executing FAIR’s.
  2. Operation of measurement devices which may include: vernier calipers, digital micrometers, other non-contact measurement devices, vision and optical equipment. Material testing such as tensile testing, adhesion, coefficient of friction.
  3. Be a resource for assisting Quality Engieering with calibration, qualifying new equipment, validation, executing Gauge R&R or developing TMV’s and other documentation.
  4. Participate in and support quality processes such as nonconformances, change control, customer complaints, CAPA, and root cause analysis.
  5. Support Process/Product Development efforts for testing, image capturing, and data capture.
  6. Use of the quality management/ERP software data entry, routing and reporting.
  7. Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
