Description PURPOSE STATEMENT: We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Quality Control Technician with a good eye for detail. In this position, you will maintain quality standards by approving incoming materials, in-process production, finished products, and reporting the test results. You will be responsible for performing standardized quality control checks on our company products to ensure they meet the predefined standards for safety and quality. To ensure success as a quality technician, you should have a strong working knowledge of mathematical concepts and excellent visual awareness. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Compliance with Standard Operating Procedures, GMPs and related systems that ensure company compliance and applicable regulations Receive and inspect incoming raw materials Sample and release of raw materials according to SOP guidelines Inspect and release of packaging materials and finished products Sampling and sample preparation of raw materials and finished product for contract laboratory use Receiving, inspecting, releasing, storing and inventory reconciliation of all product labels Monitoring of manufacturing and bottling/packaging-roving inspector Investigate customer complaints as assigned by QC Manager Processing, collecting, and storing RM and FP retained samples Pull and process all relabel contract jobs and bulk contract orders as assigned by QC Manager Use of sampling and lab equipment including the Nicolet FT-iR and NIR-iR Destruction of rejected/expired materials following company SOP’s and guidelines Issuance of PBR’s to Bottle Room, review, and release of runs Operate forklift and other power equipment as needed Must prepare and complete required documentation Conduct routine microbial testing on finished products Perform additional duties as assigned KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE: Must have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED); Associates degree strongly preferred in Food Science, Nutrition, Biology, or Chemistry Experience as a QC or QA Technician Ability to read, write, and communicate about work instructions and safety information written in English Understanding of basic mathematical concepts Ability to analyze and interpret technical information Computer skills including MS office and material control programs Advanced organizational skills Ability to follow and interpret instructions whether written or spoken Ability to work well in a team Strong communication and interpersonal skill Punctual and reliable in work attendance Requirements
