Description Ascentec Engineering is hiring! We are seeking a Quality Control Technician -- Calibration for our precision machine shop servicing high tech markets. This is a critical position and presents a great opportunity for someone to provide final assurance to our valued customers that their products meet the highest quality standards possible. This position is onsite (not remote/not hybrid) at our Tualatin, Oregon headquarters and is not eligible for Visa sponsorship or transfer of Visa sponsorship. Requirements Primary Responsibilities: Calibrate measuring and test equipment to ensure accuracy and precision, maintaining high quality standards for all inspection tools and devices Utilize calibration management software to monitor calibration schedules Perform in-process "first part" inspection and final product inspector for precision machined parts and integrated assemblies Must be able to effectively use and understand dedicated metrology equipment including automated equipment – CMM, Optical comparator, etc. Identification, segregation, containment, and record keeping of nonconforming product through root cause investigation and final disposition Position Requirements: Extremely detail oriented and focused on helping to maintain consistent quality standards Ability to read, understand, and interpret internal and customer provided mechanical prints including GD&T Strong communication skills and able to work as a team member when parts/assemblies are determined to be out of tolerance during final inspection Experience with a wide variety of metrology equipment including CMM, Optical comparator, calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, etc. required Experience working within an ISO 9001 registered organization is required Able to work overtime and limited Saturday shifts as needed Flexible work hours Preference will be given to candidates with prior machinist experience Strong decision-making skills Self-Starter / Self-Motivated Reliable and Dependable Positive Attitude Enjoys fast pace and rapidly changing environment Honest with Good Integrity Professional Demeanor and Respectful to people in all situations Team Player WORKING CONDITIONS: Works in a machine shop environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate. Must be flexible to work varying schedules and hours as needed. Occasional local travel may be required.
