JOB REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada and have strong English language skills. The ability to read and understand written English and communicate in English both spoken and in writing is a requirement of the job.
Post-secondary science degree or diploma in Chemistry, Biology, Food Science, or relevant field is required.

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the QC Supervisor, the Quality Control Technician is responsible for the administration of quality control functions as they relate to food and infant formula manufacturing and processing activities. This is to ensure that Canada Royal Milk’s products are made in compliance with regulatory, company and customer specifications. The Technician conducts routine testing, data collection, results analysis, record-keeping, monitoring of manufacturing processes and parameters, and takes corrective action as directed by the production/QA supervisor.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements for the food industry, SOPs, GLPs, GMPs.
  • Familiar with various microorganisms seen in food testing laboratories preferred.
  • Experience working with various types of analytical laboratory equipment and technology, including familiarity with instrument troubleshooting preferred.
  • Excellent communication and comprehension skills in English (verbal and written).
  • Computer literacy and advanced Microsoft Office application (Word, Excel, Outlook) skills.
  • Ability to work rotating shift work – including evenings, nights, and weekends.
  • Ability to work long hours on one’s feet – walking, kneeling, bending – and perform physically demanding tasks at times.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 25kg (55lbs).
  • Analytical, with problem-identification and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Comfortable working in a team environment and independently.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Highly accurate and detail oriented.
