Description
Description Purpose: The Quality Control Technician is responsible for ensuring that our precast concrete structures meet design specifications and the highest quality standard achievable. Essential Functions: Perform inspections on product forms. Perform pre-pour inspections on all products in accordance with company guidelines. Perform post-pour and product acceptance inspections in accordance with company guidelines. File pre/post pour inspection reports. Mark and layout product for steps. File production packets with QC markings. Document corrections made to product each day and report results to QC Manager at the end of each day; report immediately as needed. Perform daily concrete testing (slump, spread, VSI, air content, test cylinders). Document daily concrete testing results to management Review product drawings and make recommendations prior to form production as needed. Make repair recommendations for products as needed. Make sound decisions on minor quality issues. Assist with the layout and set-up of specialty products. Assist with the set-up of grate seats. Follows all company-assigned safety policies and procedures without exception. Other duties as assigned. Requirements Minimum Requirements: Minimum of 2 years' experience in construction is preferred. Prior Quality Control experience in manufacturing is preferred. 2 years' experience in a precast concrete production shop preferred. ACI and NPCA Certifications (or the ability to obtain). Ability to read and interpret shop drawings. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions. Ability to problem solve. Highschool diploma or equivalent required. Physical Demands: Ability to safely lift a minimum of 50 lbs. Ability to work in extreme weather, including but not limited to high heat, low temperature, and high sun environments. Ability to sit, stand, and walk for long periods of time. Ability to climb and descend stairs. Ability to perform direct keyboard entry operations for regular periods of time.
