Job Description Role Overview- The Quality Control Technician is responsible for performing a wide range of technical laboratory procedures to support quality assurance activities. This role involves conducting laboratory testing and data analysis of specialty chemicals, adhesives, sealants, 1K and 2K systems, as well as dimensional and functional analysis of baffle parts. The position requires handling sensitive laboratory equipment and executing tests in line with internal standards and external requirements, with the objective of generating accurate and reliable results to ensure product quality and compliance. Roles and Responsibilities 1.Sampling & Testing Operations Sample Management: Collect, prepare, and manage samples of raw materials, in-process materials, finished products, development samples, and customer complaint materials in accordance with approved sampling plans. Routine Quality Control Activities: Perform quality control analysis of raw materials, in-process materials, and finished goods for local production and trading materials. Maintain retention sample records. Conduct daily GEMBA rounds and maintain observation and compliance records. Instrumental and Analytical Testing: Operate and handle laboratory instruments as per defined testing plans and standard operating procedures. Demonstrate proficiency in operating laboratory equipment, including but not limited to: UTM, Moisture analyzer, pH meter, Viscometers, Rheometer, MFI, Density Meters, KF auto titrator, Manual Titrators, Profile projector, Hardness testers, Hydrometers, Spectrometers. 2.Laboratory Maintenance & Safety Equipment Care: Set up, operate, and maintain laboratory equipment and instrumentation with minimal supervision, ensuring readiness and accuracy. Inventory and Stock Control: Maintain adequate stock levels of laboratory reagents, substrates, consumables, and stationery. Update inventory records and raise material requisitions as required. Housekeeping and 6S Practices: Ensure laboratory housekeeping standards and 6S practices are consistently followed, including proper storage and handling of chemicals. Safety Compliance: Strictly adhere to laboratory safety procedures, MSDS guidelines, and organizational health, safety, and environmental requirements. 3.Documentation & Reporting •Data Recording: Accurately record test results for raw materials, in-process materials, and finished goods in SAP systems and designated result files. •Reporting: Prepare and maintain laboratory documentation, including logbooks, test reports, and result spreadsheets, in compliance with documentation requirements. •Nonconformance Identification: Identify, document, and promptly communicate any deviations, irregularities, or product nonconformities at all three inspection levels through formal written communication (e.g., emails, test reports) to the reporting manager. Ensure nonconforming materials are clearly identified, segregated, contained, and escalated without delay. Authorities: •Authority to approve or reject raw materials and finished goods in accordance with defined quality standards and procedures. Working Conditions •Shift-based working in three shifts as per production and operational requirements. Competency Requirements Functional Competencies •Knowledge of performance chemicals, polymers, elastomers, adhesives, and sealants used in industrial and automotive applications. •Strong attention to detail with the ability to perform mathematical and scientific calculations using spreadsheets and statistical software. •Awareness and understanding of ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018, and IATF 16949 requirements. •Exposure to quality core tools. •Working knowledge of structured problem-solving techniques. Qualifications Education: Bachelor/Master degree in Chemistry Or Diploma/Degree in Chemical Engineering/ Mechanical Engineering Experience: Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in Quality Control, chemical analysis, and testing of raw materials and finished products. •Industry Focus: Prior experience in adhesives and sealants (Polyurethane, STP, SMP, Epoxy, Acrylics) is preferred.
