With a deep understanding of food markets and food safety requirements we are committed to continued leadership, growth, and service to our customers.We have an opportunity for a QC Tech at our food processing plant in St.Laurent, QC.:
Working hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM

Responsibilities
  1. Perform daily sanitation inspections of the facility, including pre-operational (Pre-Op) checks and verification of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  2. Conduct routine inspections of warehousing areas, facility interiors/exteriors, and glass/hard plastic control components.
  3. Inspect and verify raw materials prior to production in coordination with line operators.
  4. Collect product samples at the beginning, middle, and end of each production run for quality analysis and retention.
  5. Monitor production lines every two hours to ensure Critical Control Point (CCP) compliance; complete all associated documentation.
  6. Oversee in-process monitoring and verify equipment functionality to identify any deviations from quality specifications.
  7. Review and approve label content prior to printing, ensuring compliance with regulatory and company requirements.
  8. Enforce line control procedures during allergen management and product changeovers.
  9. Conduct and document internal laboratory tests, in-line verifications, and finished product assessments, as required.
  10. Submit samples to accredited laboratories and government bodies (e.g., CFIA) for external testing and certification (e.g., phytosanitary certificates).
  11. Administer the HOLD procedure, including record-keeping and oversight of product release.
  12. Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of inspections, quality checks, and traceability documents (e.g., supplier lot labels).
  13. Submit comprehensive Quality Inspection Reports for each production batch.
  14. Ensure proper archiving of production documentation, QA records, and compliance forms.
  15. Provide supporting QA documentation such as Certificates of Analysis (COA), Corrective and Preventive Action reports (CAPA), and product specifications upon customer request.
  16. Support internal quality and food safety audits and contribute to root cause analyses and corrective actions.
  17. Collaborate closely with production and warehouse supervisors/managers to identify and resolve real-time quality issues.
  18. Act as the Quality Assurance lead in the absence of the Quality Assurance Manager.
  19. Participate in and lead GMP training discussions to foster a culture of quality and accountability.
  20. Serve as a key representative for the Food Safety Management System (FSMS), supporting its implementation and ongoing compliance.
    Qualifications:
    Diploma or degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field (preferred).
    Able to communicate in English and French, being a polyglot is an asset.
    Previous experience in food manufacturing or quality assurance/control is a must.
    Strong understanding of GMP, HACCP, and food safety regulations. HACCP certification (16 hours) required.
    Attention to detail with excellent observation and documentation skills.
    Able to lift up to 25 lbs.
    Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
