Description

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Quality Control Technician to support our road and bridge construction projects. This role provides technical support in civil engineering, with a focus on inspection, materials testing, and quality assurance. You will play a critical role in ensuring our infrastructure meets stringent safety, durability, and compliance standards.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in aggregate testing, compaction testing, and concrete testing. Familiarity with Concrete Precast CSA certification, ISO 9001:2015, CCIL accreditation, and OPSS standards will be considered a strong asset.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2-year College Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology
  • 1 year of experience in quality control or quality assurance.
  • Hands-on experience in aggregate testing, compaction testing, and concrete testing.
  • Familiarity with Concrete Precast CSA certification requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 quality management systems.
  • Strong knowledge of CCIL laboratory procedures and quality management systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in road, highway or municipal infrastructure projects

Responsibilities
  • Maintain quality control policies and procedures in line with CSA and ISO 9001:2015 standards.
  • Conduct or supervise inspection and testing of construction materials such as concrete, aggregates, and soils
  • Ensure materials meet engineering standards and project specifications
  • Maintain and calibrate testing equipment
  • Work closely with engineers, project managers, and site supervisors to resolve technical issues
  • Testing in accordance with Concrete Precast CSA and CCIL certification requirements.
  • Collaborate with other departments and advise work sites on specification requirements.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of all quality control activities.
  • Prepare and present quality reports to senior management.
  • Document Non-Conformance Reports and respond to any Quality Assurance issues.
  • Anticipate project specific quality issues and develop systems to prevent issues from arising/reoccurring.
