JOB SUMMARY:

The Quality Control Technician supports Schebler’s Specialty Fabrication Division by ensuring all fabricated products meet established quality standards and customer specifications. This role is responsible for performing inspections, measurements, and tests throughout the manufacturing process, documenting results, and communicating findings to production and engineering teams. The Quality Control Technician plays a key role in identifying nonconformities, supporting root cause analysis, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS:

Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
Experience:1-2 years of quality inspection or manufacturing experience preferred.
Certifications/Other: None required; relevant quality training or certifications a plus.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to identify problems, recommend solutions, and act proactively.
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other basic computer programs.
  • Skilled in using measuring devices (tape measure, calipers, Faro arm); prior caliper experience strongly preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb stairs, and use hands for extended periods.
  • Must occasionally lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. independently.
  • Work environment involves moderate noise exposure.

Responsibilities

  4. Maintain detailed and accurate inspection records, test data, and quality documentation.
  5. Collaborate with production and engineering teams to resolve quality issues, improve processes, and reduce waste.
  6. Support the Quality Lab in tracking product flow and status.
  7. Ensure adherence to inspection procedures and overall production cycle efficiency.
  8. Other duties as assigned.
