        Weldco Heavy Industries, a Division of McKay Metis Group (WHI), is a large steel fabrication and repair facility located in the Fort MacKay Caribou Energy Park. We are looking for like-minded people who will support our culture.  Weldco Heavy Industries is currently recruiting a Quality Control Technician for the Fort MacKay location on a 2 weeks on/ 2 weeks off rotation, 12-hour shifts. Reporting to the General Foreman your primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following. What you will do: * Maintain all records related to quality assurance of work orders, including non-conformance report (NCR) program * Monitor quality control inspection protocol to ensure that all standards are met or exceeded * Assist members of the team by providing training to employees, produce job completion reports, and analyze project scopes for sales quotes * Administer in-house NDE testing and CWB program * Assist welders with welding tasks if necessary What you bring to the position: * Proficiency and knowledge in all position use of: GMAW, FCAW, SMAW; all sizes of weld wire * Collaboration skills to work with various team members to achieve company objectives * Communication skills to read, write, listen and speak in a clear and concise manner to individuals at various levels * Preference will be given to applicants that have worked on Oil Sands sites and demonstrate sustained safety consciousness * Intermediate computer skills Your qualifications: * CWB Supervisor Ticket * CWB Level 1 Inspector qualification * Journeyman Welder * Minimum of 5 years of Quality Control experience in a similar position * Minimum of 3 years direct experience in mining equipment rebuild and repair * Valid fall protection & elevated work platform certificate is preferred  * Additional valid safety certifications is an asset  What we bring: * Competitive pay * Rewards - service rewards, employee discounts  * Personal growth, career advancement opportunities * A workplace that prides itself on safety, cleanliness, respect, and results * Feedback and recognition for a job well done * A Living allowance will be provided * No accommodations or transportation provided Please note: Successful candidates will undergo a pre-employment medical evaluation upon hiring.
