Peake Fruit is based in Ardleigh (Near Colchester) and is a World Class Grower, Packer and Supplier of quality fresh fruit, we are looking to grow our Quality Department and are looking for an experienced Quality Checker.
This role is crucial to the success of the business and the successful applicant will be responsible to meeting the customer’s required strict delivery and operational standards. Endlessly striving for better efficiency, hygiene, and best practice to deliver a world-class and vertically integrated fruit supply operation.

Responsibilities
  • Conformance of Peake Fruit’s packhouse, facilities and products to customer (and third-party auditor) standards, specifications, and accreditations
  • Minimising rejection by implementing a quality assurance system that ensures good manufacturing practices and customer/product compliance.
  • Continuous Improvement of technical performance
  • Accompany customer visits and external audits.
  • Follow and promote QA System
  • Carry out adequate internal audits.
  • Critically examine all areas of responsibility looking for variances in Key Performance Indicators, communicate and improving performance if required.
  • Monitor stock from a quality point of view, liaising with sales and production staff.
  • Retain and monitor shelf lives samples for all products.
  • Communicate packing requirements and quality issues to production staff.
  • Liaise between customers, growers, and suppliers to ensure product specifications and standards are up to date and communicated to all relevant staff.
  • Respond quickly to customer quality and technical requests.
  • Monitor product quality and respond to non-conformances, customer complaints and rejections.
  • Maintain satisfactory Good Manufacturing practices and improve standards where applicable.
  • Assess quality of raw materials, work in the progress, finish product and Goods In storage, against appropriate specification.
  • Work as one team to achieve the common goal.
