OVERVIEW

We are seeking a Quality Engineer to join our quality and engineering team. This role is key in supporting the development and implementation of quality processes and ensuring customer-specific requirements are met across all areas. The ideal candidate will have experience with measurement systems, PPAP/FAIR submissions, and auditing within a fast-paced, precision engineering environment. A strong understanding of quality standards and engineering drawings is essential.
This is a temporary 6-12 months role.

SKILLS

  • Strong knowledge of APQP, PPAP, and FAIR processes.
  • Experience with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, AS9100, and ISO 14001 standards.
  • Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering component drawings.
  • Skilled in using standard measuring tools such as verniers, micrometers, and shadow graphs.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word for documentation and reporting.
  • Familiar with quality tools and methodologies (e.g. 8D, 5 Why, Ishikawa diagrams, flow charts, fault tree analysis).
  • Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Measurement System Analysis (MSA).
  • Strong communication skills and commercial awareness.
  • Internal auditing qualification and experience is desirable.
  • Effective time management and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and implement customer-specific quality requirements across all applicable processes.
  • Manage and maintain measurement systems and laboratory requirements, including calibration and MSA (Measurement System Analysis).
  • Introduce and oversee new measuring equipment as required.
  • Support the creation and maintenance of quality documentation related to New Product Introduction (NPI) and work transfers.
  • Conduct PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) and FAIR (First Article Inspection Reports) submissions for new or modified products.
  • Perform internal process and product audits in line with QMS/EMS requirements.
  • Provide internal training relevant to quality standards and procedures.
  • Organise and attend contract reviews when needed.
  • Support manufacturing in identifying and implementing product and process improvements.
  • Report regularly to the Quality Manager on all quality-related matters.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment and follow all PPE and health & safety procedures.
