Description
Reporting to the Light Vehicle region VP/GM, you will be accountable for driving quality performance results to improve customer satisfaction and global competitiveness. You will lead a regionally dispersed team of approximately 20 Quality personnel, including direct and functional reporting relationships within 8 plant locations. These plant facilities include Athens, GA; Roxboro, NC; Kearney, NE; Carol Stream, IL; Aguascalientes Engine Components; Aguascalientes Engine Valves; Reynosa Vehicle; Carol Stream, IL; and Queretaro Power Connections sites. Oversees annual EQS Fresh Eyes Audit assessments to identify and drive systemic corrective action across the region. Leads the execution of the annual budget plan, including performance scorecard metrics and initiatives. Responsible for CONC process improvement within plants and ensuring monthly and annual progress. Champions the deployment of functional quality strategies that align with business needs, while leveraging and aligning to corporate, sector, and regional strategic plans. Drives communication of customer requirements throughout regional operations and functions; ensures these requirements guide business priorities. Maintains overall ownership of the Quality Alert and Spill management process for the region, ensuring timely escalation and communication of customer spill incidents. Coordinates with Plant Quality and Supplier Quality colleagues to ensure appropriate containment and root-cause preventive actions are taken urgently, and provides onsite team support as appropriate. Ensures Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) requirements and processes are appropriately performed in operations, and supports PROLaunch New Product Development or Standard Transition projects. Collaborates with region and plant quality/continuous improvement management to improve performance, including identification and standardization of best practices. Supports regional training strategies and plans for quality processes and tools, including: 8D, PFMEA, Control Plans, Root Cause, Six Sigma, MSA/Gauge Capability, PPAP, APQP, CAR, QCPC, and WISPER. Builds organizational capability and manages the flow of talent across the quality function. Leads support of regional facilities and serves as the central point of contact for all customer-related processes (PPAP approval, PPCN communication, Customer Specific Requirements understanding). Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution Minimum of 10 years of manufacturing, quality, engineering and/or continuous improvement Minimum of 5 years in people leadership roles Ability to travel domestically and internationally around 50% of the time Certifications preferred including Six Sigma Black Belt, 8D, ASQ, CQM, CQE Familiarity with PPAP, PFMEA, SPC Minimum of 5 years within the automotive industry preferred Excellent negotiating, interpersonal, communication, analytical, and strategic planning skills Ability to manage effectively in a highly matrixed environment Demonstrates professional presence and personal integrity Delivers strong leadership and problem-solving presence in manufacturing locations We are committed to ensuring equal employment opportunities for all job applicants and employees.
