REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent industry experience).
  • Minimum of 10 years of quality assurance management experience in the structural steel fabrication and erection industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of welding, fabrication processes, and structural steel erection techniques.
  • Proficient understanding of relevant industry codes and standards (AWS, AISC, ASTM, ISO, local & international building codes).
  • Strong leadership capabilities, including experience managing and mentoring QA/QC teams.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficient in quality management systems and QA/QC software tools.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage clients, project teams, and senior leadership effectively.
  • Strong understanding of production, manufacturing processes, and QA metrics in the structural steel sector.
  • Proven ability to conduct performance reviews, enforce policy compliance, and manage staff operations.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or equivalent certification.
  • Prior experience leading QA on large-scale structural steel projects from concept through erection.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience working in ISO 9001 or similarly certified environments.
  • Previous experience in a senior or director-level quality management role.

    Pay: $130,472.02 - $150,998.55 per year

Responsibilities
  • Lead the development, implementation, and oversight of a comprehensive Quality Assurance (QA) program for structural steel fabrication and erection.
  • Ensure all QA processes adhere to industry codes, client specifications, and regulatory requirements (AWS, AISC, ASTM, ISO, etc.).
  • Manage QA/QC processes across design, manufacturing, and field operations to ensure consistent product quality and compliance.
  • Oversee inspections, testing, documentation, and reporting of materials, welds, and structural components.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across QA operations to increase efficiency, reduce defects, and enhance client satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and project management teams to proactively address quality concerns and resolve issues.
  • Monitor and qualify suppliers and subcontractors to ensure all inputs meet or exceed internal and external quality standards.
  • Act as the primary client liaison for all quality-related matters, ensuring transparent communication and timely resolution of concerns.
  • Develop and maintain quality control documentation including inspection logs, checklists, reports, and certification records.
  • Ensure integration of safety and quality processes throughout the production lifecycle.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of QA professionals, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Conduct audits and support third-party inspections or regulatory reviews.
  • Stay current with industry trends, standards, and regulatory changes that may impact quality assurance practices.
