Description Company Overview: AKG North American Operations, Inc. is a leading provider of innovative heat exchange solutions for a variety of industries. Our Mitchell, SD facility is looking for a dedicated and skilled Quality Engineer to join our Quality Department and contribute to our mission of delivering high-quality products to our customers. Position Overview: As a Quality Engineer at AKG, you will play a key role in supervising and coordinating quality-related activities within our manufacturing environment. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with internal and customer specifications through inspections, testing, and data analysis. This position involves applying your expertise in quality assurance, ISO standards, and lean manufacturing to drive continuous improvements and maintain high-quality standards. Key Responsibilities: · Supervise and coordinate factory inspection activities to ensure product quality meets specifications. · Communicate directly with customer account managers and engineers to resolve quality concerns efficiently. · Support the Quality Manager in maintaining the Quality Management System (QMS) and ISO 9001:2015 compliance. · Analyze and improve production processes, driving continuous improvement strategies throughout the organization. · Participate in internal audits and lead corrective actions to resolve defects and prevent recurrence. · Collaborate with plant management, engineering, and production personnel to address defects, scrap, and non-conformance issues. · Manage and review engineering change requests (ECNs) to ensure accuracy and proper implementation in manufacturing. · Engage in training and development activities to support the growth and compliance of the Quality department. Requirements · Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Technology, or a related field. · 2+ years of experience in an ISO-9001 certified manufacturing environment (preferred). · Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and experience with data analysis. · Knowledge of GD&T, Minitab, and CAD software is desirable. · Quality Engineer or Lead Quality Auditor certification is a plus. · Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills. Physical Requirements: · Ability to stand, walk, sit, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly with proper equipment. · Must be able to work in a manufacturing and office environment.
