Job Details Job Location: CLEVELAND, OH 44102 Job Title: Quality Engineer Reports to: Vice President of Sales & Supply Chain Location: Cleveland, Ohio Travel Required: 0-5% FLSA Classification: Salary Exempt Position Type: Full-time Job Description Summary: The QE is responsible for testing materials and finished products to ensure they conform to all applicable laws and Alcon Industries standards. The QE test products across the three stages of production (before, in-process, and final) to ensure quality levels are met. Role and Responsibilities: Daily visual and dimensional inspection of castings and fabrications at the final inspection stage. Chemical analysis verification: spectrometer operations In-process assistance regarding blueprint interpretation, visual inspection for production personnel. Documentation of inspection and chemical analysis results. Assist in corrective actions and identifying nonconformances. Qualifications and Education Requirements: Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and drawings. Previous experience in a foundry, or a manufacturing environment. Must be able to use measurement tools: Micrometers, calipers, tape measure, etc. Background in quality control/quality assurance. Experience with running and calibrating spectrometer (Metallurgical experience). Sand testing/control knowledge. ISO-9001 working environment experience. Non-destructive testing experience with radiography, and liquid penetrants.
