Quality Engineer (Banska Bystrica, Slovakia) (m/f/*)
The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As a Quality Engineer at PSD, Fall Protection Banska plant in Banska Bystrica, Slovakia, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world.

Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Leading improvement projects, among techniques and scientific principles to complete routine tasks and solve problems.
  • Applying a working knowledge of basic quality technology and statistics to assigned processes and products.
  • Using of basic quality tools and methods as well as pertinent scientific disciplines to perform routine tasks and project work.
  • Implementing knowledge of basic quality systems such as ISO-9001, metrology, and audits, along with basic statistical tools (e.g., MINITAB, t-tests, Gage R&R, ANOVA) and awareness of advanced tools (e.g., experimental design, regression).
  • Collaborating cross-functional with laboratory, manufacturing, engineering, sales, and marketing teams to complete assignments, regularly crossing functional boundaries.
  • Developing and implementing quality systems and processes of low complexity.
  • Using expertise in quality engineering, statistics, and applied technology to create practical, cost-effective solutions for low-complexity challenges.
  • Identifying and developing an awareness of quality improvement and product opportunities and is productive in suggesting and testing ideas.

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who meet following minimum requirements:

  • Education: higher degree (bachelor’s or masters)
  • Past experience in Manufacturing (stitching) and Mechatronics, testing of products and evaluating.
  • Language skills: Slovak in fluent, English intermediate level
  • Problem Solving mindset: Use knowledge in quality engineering, statistics, and applied technology for practical, cost-effective solutions.
  • Innovation attitude: Identify and test ideas for quality improvement and product opportunities.
  • Ability for cross-functional interactions
  • SAP system familiarity

Additional knowledge / nice-to-have skills / preferred qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Project management
  • QMS of ISO 9001 external training (certification)
  • Internal auditors to ISO 9001 certificates)

Job specifics:

  • Location: position based in Banska plant in Slovakia
  • Travel expectations: include up to 5% domestic/international
  • Relocation: Not authorized/Remote location is NOT supported
  • On-site based: at least 4 days work from office in Banska
  • Working pattern: full-time or part-time min. 4 days a week
