Description

We are looking to recruit a Quality Engineer who will support the management and control of all aspects of the site Quality Management Systems (QMS). This includes ensuring compliance with departmental KPI’s, liaising with internal colleagues, customers and other outside parties in relation to Quality issues.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

  • Formal Materials/Metallurgy and/or Quality qualification
  • Experience of Metal processing and/or Engineering/process background ideally within a regulated industry
  • Direct experience of standard Quality Engineering tools, skills and tasks, e.g. 8D, RCCA, Gauge R&R, 5S, Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement Techniques
  • Experience of working and communicating directly with customers
  • Team worker, concern for accuracy and quality, good communicator, flexible, initiative, customer focused, conscientious with a hands-on approach and good planning and organising.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure the requirements of the Bodycote QMS (EN9100, ISO9001 & NADCAP) are satisfied, including the control of site customer and international standards, specification updates, and review and maintain site register and libraries
  • Act as deputy site Quality Manager
  • Support & participate in site audits
  • NCR management & RCCA
  • Liaise with customers regarding QA queries
  • Ensure all quality aspects of customer requirements are maintained
  • Raise job cards / technical data cards and support on the development of new work & perform contract review
  • Lead, perform and report Pyrometry, TUS, SAT, Leak test etc. and other functional tests in line with process matrix
  • Perform site stamp legibility checks as required
  • Conduct pFMEA and risk tools as required – AS13100
  • Support improvements, Continuous Improvement, projects, trials, audits, training and development
  • Support the quality team / inspection roles e.g. hardness testing when required
  • Maintain good working practices, workplace organisation (5S) support EHS, & ISO14001 activities.
