Description POSITION SUMMARY As a Quality Engineer, you will play a critical role in delivering error-free, industry-leading products to our customers. You will lead quality assurance initiatives across manufacturing, supplier management, and product development, ensuring compliance with regulatory and customer requirements. This role is hands-on, highly collaborative, and central to maintaining our reputation for precision and reliability. The ideal candidate will have experience with Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and metrology practices, including programming, operating, and analyzing parts to ensure dimensional compliance with engineering drawings and customer specifications. They should also be comfortable performing inspections and collaborating with engineering and production teams to resolve dimensional issues. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Quality System & Compliance Management Maintain and update the Quality Management System (ISO 9001, AS9100, ISO 13485, FDA, ANSI, MIL standards as applicable) Assist in internal audits, corrective/preventive actions (CAPA), and control of nonconforming products Document and control procedures, monitoring devices, and calibration systems Assist with calibration systems and training employees on proper inspection equipment usage Apply and communicate regulatory and customer requirements throughout the organization Product & Process Quality Develop quality plans, inspection sheets, sampling plans, and work instructions to ensure compliance with product and customer requirements Lead or assist product and process verification or validation studies Perform and support in-process, receiving, and final inspections Utilize GD&T principles (ASME Y14.5) and advanced measurement techniques to verify product conformance Develop and implement risk analyses (FMEA, ISO 17025) to mitigate product and process risks Support AS9102 First Article Inspections and PPAP activities to ensure customer and regulatory compliance Apply statistical tools and Six Sigma methods to analyze variation and drive continuous improvement Supplier & Manufacturing Support Develop and review supplier quality plans with purchasing to ensure regulatory and product requirements are met Serve as the lead in resolving quality issues prior to product release Recommend revisions to internal documents, procedures, and quality control methods Provide input on tooling, inspection equipment, and capital equipment to improve productivity and quality Oversee metrology activities, including setup, testing, calibration, repair, and alignment of instruments and equipment Requirements SKILL REQUIREMENTS Skilled with Microsoft Office Suite (including Excel) and ERP systems such as Global Shop. Strong prioritization and organizational skills with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced production environment. Strong professionalism and effective written and oral communication, both internally and externally. Strong problem solving and analytical skills with keen attention to detail. Collaborate well cross-functionally with project managers, materials procurement, design, process development, quality, and customers. Demonstrate a hands-on, self-starting attitude with strong interpersonal and technical skills. QUALIFICATIONS At least two years of experience in quality engineering, process engineering, or a closely related field, or an equivalent combination of education and hands-on manufacturing/engineering experience; a degree in Quality, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or a related field is preferred. Experience in metrology, calibration, and maintaining measurement systems Familiarity with process control, statistical methods, advanced inspection techniques, GD&T, and blueprint reading Knowledge of quality management systems and ISO 9001, AS9100, ISO 13485, FDA, ANSI, or MIL standards Experience in the machining industry is preferred, particularly job shop machining with knowledge in the design and selection of fixturing and tooling for complex part setups and multiple prints. Ability to travel occasionally. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, hearing protection, and composite or steel-toe shoes, must be worn as required. The work environment features standard plant lighting, operating machinery, and typical ambient conditions associated with a manufacturing facility. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Sit or stand as needed. Walking primarily on a level surface for periods throughout the day. Reaching above shoulder height, below the waist, or lifting as required to reach documents or store materials throughout the workday. Proper lifting techniques required.
