QUALIFICATIONS YOU MUST HAVE

  • Advanced degree and 3+ years of experience in Quality Engineering experience in Aviation, Aerospace, Space, Defense or other regulated industry; OR Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of relevant experience; OR Associate’s degree / Technical School Diploma and 7+ years of relevant industry experience. We will also consider Technical School Diploma or specialized Military training and 10+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret-level Security Clearance.

QUALIFICATIONS WE PREFER

  • Degree in STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics)
  • Working knowledge of MRO operations, shop practices, processes, procedures, and quality standards, ideally in an aerospace engine overhaul & repair environment supporting the F135 engine program or other military engine program.
  • Former Quality Stamp holder with experience in variation control and closure
  • ASQ Certification preferred
  • Certified auditor and audit experience with AS9100, AS9102, ISO9001 QMS system.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage quality clinics or other projects effectively.
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles, and continuous improvement tools (CORE/ACE/SixSigma, QCPC and RCCA).
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office, SAP and MRP material ordering systems.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization including senior level management.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

This position will be the onsite Quality Engineer at the NAS Jacksonville site.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop processes, procedures and work instruction in support of AS9100/9110 compliant QMS
  • Perform process, work instruction, and AS9100 / 9110 audit / reviews
  • Review and approve FAI’s
  • Issue and close Quality Notifications (QN’s)
  • Lead in DAISE, Problem Resolution Team (PRT), and audit close out reviews to ensure issue recurrence elimination
  • Improve manufacturing, assembly, inspection, and test processes to reduce and prevent defects and prevent quality escapes to our customers.
  • Develop and deliver QMS training to the inspection and operations teams.
  • Support the continuous improvement activities
  • Interface with various groups and to resolve technical/quality issues
  • Track and trend quality metrics
  • Perform product inspections
  • Expected travel for this role 10% - 20%
