The Quality Engineer plays a critical role in strengthening our commitment to delivering high-quality, reliable products to our customers. This position is responsible for driving continuous improvement, leading root cause analysis, and implementing effective quality systems within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The Quality Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance, reduce defects, and support operational excellence. Essential Functions Lead quality engineering activities and support the development, implementation, and maintenance of quality systems in accordance with industry standards. Analyze production processes and product performance to identify opportunities for improvement, cost reduction, and defect elimination. Conduct detailed root cause analysis using tools such as 5 Why, Fishbone, FMEA, and other problem-solving methodologies. Partner with Production, Engineering, and Purchasing teams to drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and ensure timely resolution of quality issues. Perform and oversee inspections, audits, and testing to ensure products meet customer, regulatory, and internal specifications. Develop quality documentation, including work instructions, procedures, control plans, and inspection standards. Monitor and evaluate supplier performance; collaborate on supplier corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives. Support new product introduction (NPI) activities, ensuring quality requirements are built into design and manufacturing processes. Track key quality metrics and provide data-driven insights to leadership to support decision making. Train employees on quality standards, processes, and tools to strengthen organizational knowledge and capability. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related field required). 3+ years of quality engineering experience in a manufacturing environment; plastics or custom manufacturing experience is a strong plus. Proven expertise in problem-solving methodologies and quality improvement tools. Experience with ISO quality systems, audits, and process control. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and translate findings into actionable recommendations. Proficiency in reading technical drawings, engineering specifications, and using measurement tools. Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and influence process improvement. Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with ERP and quality management systems preferred.
