Electronic Combat Solutions (ECS) has technology, engineering and program teams that educate and mentor colleagues to deliver leading Electronic Warfare capabilities. BAE Systems, Inc. is seeking an early career Quality Engineer to support microelectronics module manufacturing at our site in Nashua, NH. Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this particular role, it will be performed fulltime on site. This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 100% of the time.

In this role, you will:

  • Provide quality engineering support to the microelectronics manufacturing value stream as product progresses through assembly and quality control operations.
  • Utilize quality control data to drive innovative improvements that will reduce cost and increase efficiency without compromising product integrity.
  • Reinforce compliance to the AS9100 Quality Management System (QMS) through internal audits and continuous improvement efforts that utilize quality science tools like Lean Six Sigma.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree
  • Ability to extract data for visual presentations (using charts, tables, paretos, etc.) to effectively communicate positions, issues or to drive actions
  • Ability to read and interpret technical data packages, engineering drawings, Bill of Materials, component specifications, standards, and process sheets.
  • Proficiency with M365 applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and a desire to learn new software applications.
  • Exhibit sound interpersonal skills involving interfacing, coordinating, and negotiating with others.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS

  • Experience supporting a manufacturing environment and providing effective communications to cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with Quality Management Systems (like AS9100) auditing procedures and continuous improvement activities.
  • Previous experience in a Quality function
  • Ability to apply, interpret and/or advise teams on quality, process documentation and workmanship requirements for product realization and inspection of components, assemblies and subassemblies.
  • Ability to utilize various inspection tools such as Vernier’s, microscopes, gauges, etc.
  • Experience with identification, control and disposition of nonconforming material
  • Knowledge of workmanship standards like IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, MIL-STD-883
  • Experience with root cause/corrective action tools (8D, 5 Whys, Cause and effect, fault trees)
  • Familiarity with cleanroom, ESD and FOD controlled areas
  • Certification demonstrating understanding and usage of quality sciences (like Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or ASQ certifications)
  • Understanding of engineering drawing dimensions and tolerances (ANSI 14.5 GD&T)
