Job Title: Quality Engineer Department: Quality Reports To: Quality Manager   Position Summary: To ensure superior quality and approval of deep draw stamped component parts and product assemblies. This role serves as a vital bridge between the Quality department and production teams, leading hands-on problem-solving initiatives, executing capability studies, and ensuring rigorous compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001 standards. The Quality Engineer drives continuous improvement, mitigates product issues, and supports quality system planning across the facility.   Key Responsibilities * Production Collaboration: Work closely and actively with production teams on manufacturing projects, process enhancements, scrap reduction initiatives, and embedding quality at the source. * Root Cause Analysis: Lead structured problem-solving (8-D, 5-Why, Ishikawa) and implement robust corrective and preventive actions for both internal and external product quality issues. * Core Quality Tools: Prepare and manage PPAP packages, effectively utilizing APQP, FMEA, MSA, and SPC methodologies. * QMS Compliance: Maintain and improve quality systems in strict alignment with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001 standards. * Customer Interface: Serve as a primary internal and external interface for technical quality issues, ensuring rapid response to customer concerns. * Metrology Backup & Material Quality: Serve as a secondary resource and cross-trained backup to the Lab Technician for CMM programming, general lab operations, and the gage calibration program to ensure uninterrupted record-keeping and precision standards. Establish and enforce required quality standards for incoming steel, raw materials, and components critical to the stamping process. * Continuous Improvement & Safety: Champion the continuous improvement of products, manufacturing processes, and quality systems. Actively participate in production meetings, follow company policies, and practice safe work habits on the shop floor.   Qualifications & Skills   Required: * Education & Experience: A Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of Quality Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, OR 9+ years of dedicated quality experience combined with equivalent education. * Problem Solving: Exceptional analytical abilities with proven expertise in root cause analysis and resolution. * Technical Acumen: Excellent knowledge of G.D.&T., layout techniques, blueprint reading, metrology, and accurately identifying pass-through characteristics on technical drawings. * Measurement Systems: Highly proficient in the use of precision measuring tools, gages, and CMM operation and reporting. * Systems Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of IATF 16949, ISO 14001, and ISO 9001 requirements and auditing principles. * Communication & Professionalism: Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present data and lead cross-functional teams. Displays independent judgment, initiative, and strong organizational skills. * Software: Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and project management software. * Working Conditions: Ability to work in an office environment with frequent, daily exposure to the manufacturing and production environment, including standing and walking for approximately 40% of work time. Must possess a valid U.S. Passport.   Preferred: * Experience in deep draw/regular stamping, metal forming, or a highly regulated automotive supply chain environment. * Demonstrated track record of collaborating directly with production and operations teams on shop-floor projects and implementations.   #iceind
