Description
Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Develop and maintain a deep understanding of IMMI products, ensuring integrity, reliability, regulatory compliance, and alignment with specifications. Applies total quality management tools and approaches to analytical and reporting processes within each department. Also, Book of Knowledge from ASQ. Develops and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation. Monitors and enforces quality system. Gathers data and performs problem solving to control and improve the quality of the production processes. Develops and maintains control plans and inspection work instructions. Participates and documents problem solving activities related to quality issues. Devises sampling procedures and designs and develops forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data. Establishes program to evaluate precision and accuracy of production equipment and testing, measurement, and analytical equipment and facilities. Develops and implements methods and procedures for disposition of discrepant material, and devises methods to assess responsibility. Knowledge on measuring and testing products and tabulating data concerning materials, product, or process quality and reliability. Interfaces with procurement, engineering, manufacturing, customer, or vendors to coordinate and resolve quality-related problems. Provides computerized status report describing progress and concerns related to inspection activities, nonconforming items, and/or other items related to the quality of the process, material, or product. Compiles and writes training material and conducts training sessions on quality control activities. Maintains a working knowledge of the latest codes and new developments in testing and examination methods of processes, materials, and products. Skills & Qualifications: Required: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field. 2–4 years of quality engineering experience. Specific education and training in Quality Disciplines including Corrective Actions, Total Quality Management, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, DOE, SPC and Print Reading. Familiarity with Advanced Quality Planning and Control Plan Standards. PPAP requirements, Dimensional studies, and gage/fixture studies. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Must comply with all legal, safety, and corporate quality requirements. Strong proficiency in English (speaking, reading, and writing skills). Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in a manufacturing environment, preferably with welding, cutting & sewing, or upholstery. Knowledge of quality measurement methods, solid mechanics and hands-on experience in testing and data analysis. Spanish language skills is desired. Requires working and interacting with others, both in person and through phone, electronic, and written correspondence, and the ability to listen effectively, communicate clearly, maintain attention to detail, and perform focused work. When in the warehouse, this position requires working with dirt/dust and noise. The use of a variety of proper PPE is required to provide a safe working environment. This position requires working with various temperature conditions.
