An ideal candidate will:

  • Design, install, and evaluate quality assurance process sampling systems, procedures, and statistical techniques.
  • Design or specify inspection & testing mechanisms and equipment.
  • Analyzes production/ product results and standards.
  • Recommends revision of specifications.
  • Formulates or helps formulate quality assurance policies and procedures.
  • May conduct training on quality assurance concepts and tools.
  • Interfaces with all other engineering, manufacturing, product development and supply chain functions within the organization and with customers and suppliers on quality-related issues.

QUALIFICATIONS

At least 5 years of experience as a Quality Engineer in an aerospace manufacturing environment

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering,
  • Six Sigma Black or Green Belt preferred
  • Experience working in and implementing ISO 9001: 2015 Quality systems
  • Has developed quality control and quality improvement strategies and methodsPrevious experience writing quality system documents and training operators and supervisors
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Has used statistical software like Minitab
  • Has completed Gauge R&R studies and conducted process capability studies
  • Familiarity with Honeywell, GE, Rolls-Royce and DCMA quality requirements & culture.
  • Experienced with supplier, internal, customer, and 3rd Party ISO/AS/Nadcap auditing.
  • CMM Programming experienced.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze current objectives, identify improvement opportunities and apply scientific methods, statistics and problem solving techniques to improve and sustain product quality and process effectiveness.
  • Maintain and upgrade the ISO9001:2015 Quality Management System
  • Plan and execute projects and team activities to facilitate changes that have a significant impact on business results
  • Assist operating units with Root Cause Analysis and development and implementation of corrective and preventive actions plans to improve overall quality results
  • Present to management on improvement projects and results
  • Ensure applicability of current quality policies, procedures, and objectives by keeping informed of the latest updates and modifications of quality systems

Customer contact and support for issue resolution

  • Responsible for working with Document Control in the maintenance and traceability of quality records and files throughout the shop.
  • Aid in the completion of CAPAs, QEMs, eCAVs, Case Records, First Articles, PLTs, RCCAs, & RMRAs.
  • Knowledge of 8D, 3x5 Why a plus.
