QUALITY ENGINEER

Nicholas Associates is excited to partner with a leading UK-based steel rollforming company to help them find an experienced Quality Engineer to join their quality department. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that manufacturing processes and products meet the highest quality standards.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Qualification (or equivalent experience) in Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in steel, metalworking, or rollforming industries (preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of quality management systems (ISO 9001 or equivalent).
  • Experience with quality control tools such as SPC, FMEA, Root Cause Analysis, Six Sigma.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee quality control processes throughout the production cycle, ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer specifications.
  • Conduct regular inspections and tests to verify the quality of raw materials.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement in manufacturing.
  • Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate records of quality inspections, testing, and audits.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and health & safety regulations.
  • Act as the main point of contact for customer technical and quality queries.
  • Investigate quality issues and non-conformities, using root cause analysis techniques to identify and resolve underlying causes.
  • Work closely with suppliers to ensure materials and components meet required quality standards.
  • Participate in supplier audits and quality assessments.
  • Prepare and present regular quality reports to senior management.
