Description:

Responsibilities:

As Production Quality Control Engineer, you can anticipate some of your day-to-day tasks to include:

  • Have oversight of issue identification, analysis and resolution across RDA, including the leading of 8D Investigation process and 8D issue reporting;
  • Provide Issue resolution management support services to enable effective decision making and issue response and resolution;
  • Access the issue and escalate issues to 8D Investigation, Failure Review Board , System Safety team and Core Safety Group;
  • Ensure Production team members, Quality Officers and Quality Inspectors are following the correct Material Review Board (MRB) process and the stock dispositions process are carried out as per the RIMS document;
  • Coordinating with Project Quality Engineers to update the SAP Production routing, Quality Inspection Plan ,Quality Test Instructions and End of Line checklists (EoL) based on the lesson learned from the Quality Issues;
  • Communicate technical investigation results to key technical stakeholders (Quality, Engineering, Operations, RDA Warranty team etc.);
  • Monitor effectiveness of issue corrective actions in regards to quality and cost, status of tasks, coordination with appropriate areas, etc.;
  • Analyse quality and operational data, inspection reports and other performance data to identify quality improvement needs and systemic concerns;
  • Development and maintenance of appropriate reporting systems for ongoing reporting with focus on product, customer and supplier related Issue status; and
  • Mentor/ guide quality officer, inspectors, Technicians and operation /project staff in the effective use of quality management systems and tools

The experience and skillset best suited to this role includes:

  • Mechanical or Quality Engineering qualification;
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a Quality Control/Quality Assurance role delivering complex platforms/systems in a highly regulated industry such as defence, automotive and/or aviation;
  • Internal or external audit or inspection experience;
  • Exposure to SAP working environment;
  • Demonstrated experience in Quality Management principles;
  • Ability to read and interpret standards, engineering drawings and customer specifications;
  • Lean Manufacturing experience including proven ability with Root Cause Analysis Techniques;
  • Demonstrated experience with 8D and A3 tools; and
  • Must hold or be eligible to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance (must hold Australian Citizenship)
