Description

RELAUNCH@CAPGEMINI

Have you taken a career break of 18 months or more? Whether it was for family, health, travel, or something else entirely — we understand that returning to work can feel daunting. That’s why we created Relaunch@Capgemini, a supportive 6-month programme designed to help you rebuild confidence, refresh your skills, and ease your transition back into the workplace.
.
We’re not looking for perfection — we’re looking for potential. You don’t need to meet every requirement listed — if you have relevant experience and a willingness to learn, we encourage you to apply.
.

ABOUT THE JOB YOU’RE CONSIDERING

We’re currently looking for Quality Engineers (Testers) to join our growing team, working on innovative digital transformation projects. You’ll be part of a collaborative Agile environment that values continuous learning and supports your return to work.
Our teams work across a range of technologies, including cloud platforms and traditional infrastructure, using Java-based languages and frameworks. We specialise in transforming legacy systems into cloud-native solutions, using Agile and DevOps practices across a range of platforms. You’ll be supported as you re-familiarise yourself with tools and practices, and we’ll help you build on your existing knowledge.
.
Hybrid working : The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time. You will be required to travel to our office based in Telford on average 3 days per week.
.
If you are successfully offered this position, you will go through a series of pre-employment checks, including: identity, nationality (single or dual) or immigration status, employment history going back 3 continuous years, and unspent criminal record check (known as Disclosure and Barring Service).
.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

We understand that returning to work after time away from the industry can feel challenging, and you may not be familiar with every tool or technique listed. That’s absolutely fine — we’re here to support your development and help you build confidence as you re-enter the workplace.

We’re looking for individuals who have a good understanding of software testing and quality assurance, and who are keen to learn and grow. You might bring experience in some of the following areas:

  • Communicating clearly and working well with others to solve problems
  • Testing APIs and working with tools that support this
  • Carrying out functional or system integration testing
  • Using automated testing tools or frameworks
  • Understanding how to simulate external systems (e.g. using tools like Wiremock)
  • Exploring performance or load testing
  • Working with tools like JIRA or Confluence to manage tasks and tests
  • Contributing to software development in an Agile environment
  • Using version control tools such as Git

You don’t need to have experience in all of these areas — if you’re familiar with some and open to learning the rest, we’ll support you through the Relaunch programme.
.

Responsibilities

As a Quality Engineer, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the quality and reliability of the solutions we deliver. Your responsibilities may include:

  • Reviewing and assessing requirements to ensure they are testable.
  • Creating test scripts and preparing test data in collaboration with other teams.
  • Running tests, recording results, and retesting to confirm that issues have been resolved.
  • Communicating progress and raising any concerns or risks with the wider team, including the Product Owner.
  • You’ll be working alongside experienced professionals in a supportive environment that encourages knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
