Description

Would you like to work 37½ hours over 4 Days (Monday – Thursday)? If yes, then this could be your ideal role.
Due to the high volume of new motorsport work coming through, we are looking for a skilled Quality Engineer to work across both our main site and our ShearXL facility, which are both located within 250 yards of each other, providing support to the Shearline Quality team as required.
The ideal candidate should have proven Quality experience in a similar production environment.

Key Skills Required:

  • The ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings.
  • CMM operation experience. Shearline use both PC-DMIS and M-Cosmos – training can be given to the successful applicant in these software’s.
  • Excellent communication skills and can work independently and within a team.
  • Experience in investigating both internal and customer Non-conformances including root cause analysis and corrective preventative action.
  • Be familiar with FAIR requirements, bubble drawings and process inspection sheets.
  • The ability to multitask in a fast-paced production environment.
  • CMM programming experience would be an advantage but not essential, preferably M-Cosmos and/or PC-DMIS but training can be given to the successful applicant.
  • Experience working under ISO 9001 processes.
  • Knowledge of managing a ISO9001 QMS and process creation would be advantageous.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure safe working practices at all times in accordance with the Health and Safety policy of the company.
  • Support production with quality feedback and improvements.
  • To promote a culture of customer focus throughout the organisation.
  • Provide holiday cover and additional resource for CMM inspection using PC-DMIS & M-Cosmos and manual methods when required.
  • Compiling FAIR/PPAP & Process inspection sheet documentation in accordance with customer requirements.
  • Establish and maintain quality requirements with customers.
  • Liaise with customers and suppliers on resolution and corrective action implementation of quality issues.
  • Dealing with customer returns /reworks.
  • Processing/tracking/resolving of customer SDNR’s (Supplier defect notification reports) and NCRs (Non-conformance reports).
  • Creating and maintaining inspection plans for production.
  • Producing quality documents as required by customer specific contracts including PSW, Certificate/Declaration of Conformity, Control Plans and statistical analysis supporting Process Capability.
  • In conjunction with manufacturing staff, develop and review processes and assess effectiveness in achieving product realisation.
  • Perform product audits against customer and statutory requirements and providing internal training in this activity.
  • Maintaining a visible product traceability record system compatible with the ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
  • Monitoring the quality of sub-contract product and liaising with suppliers when required.
  • Directly managing the calibration of measuring equipment and maintaining a full equipment list in support of this activity.
  • Assist with inspection of completed components using both CMM and manual methods when required.
  • Delivering quality training to staff as required.
  • Assist manufacturing in the deployment and maintenance of 5S workplace organisation.
  • Supporting other functions within the Quality Assurance Department as and when required.
  • Carry out any other general duties to assist in the smooth running of the company.
