Description Position Summary Skylift is seeking a hands-on Quality Manager to develop and oversee all quality-related activities [AW1] [JL2] for our bucket utility trucks and backyard easement equipment. This position is responsible for ensuring that all components, assemblies, and finished products meet specifications, that the correct parts are used, and that equipment operates safely and effectively. This role requires a self-motivated individual who can work independently, maintain high standards, and support quality throughout the entire manufacturing process. This role has shop floor and office settings. [AW3] Key Responsibilities Develop and implement a quality control process. Inspect incoming materials (internal and external), fabricated components, and finished equipment to ensure compliance with specifications and customer requirements. Verify that the correct parts and materials are used in all builds, including hydraulic, electrical, and structural components. Perform in-process inspections during assembly of bucket trucks and easement equipment. Ensure all builds follow engineering drawings, work orders, and company standards. Identify deviations and work directly with managers to correct issues promptly. Maintain consistency and quality across custom and standard builds. Perform root cause analysis and implement practical corrective actions. Track recurring issues and recommend improvements to processes or materials. Promote and reinforce safe work practices throughout the manufacturing floor. Maintain inspection records, nonconformance reports, and build documentation. Teaches and models Lean Thinking and Six Sigma tools and concepts; facilitates kaizen events. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field. 5-10 [AW8] years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment. Minimum 3-5 years of successfully executing continuous improvement/Lean Six Sigma efforts. Preferred experience in automotive, heavy equipment, or fabrication. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and hydraulic schematics. Experience with measurement tools (tape measure, calipers, gauges). Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a manufacturing setting. Strong commitment to safety and quality.
