Duties and responsibilities of Quality Engineer:

• Program and operate CMM machines using PC-DMIS – essential
• Produce dimensional inspection reports against engineering drawings and CAD data
• Perform precision inspection using shadow graphs, Verniers and Romer arms
• Work to exceptionally tight tolerances and conduct in-process measurements
• Support APQP and PPAP deliverables (PFMEA, Control Plans, trial builds)
• Manage customer complaints using structured problem-solving (8D, root cause, CAPA)
• Liaise directly with customers' engineering teams, toolmakers, and suppliers
• Design and specify inspection gauges and fixtures
• Create tool trial reports and quality feedback following trials
• Complete feasibility studies for new tooling and process routes
• Create and maintain SOPs and work instructions (including injection moulding, chrome plating and re-work instructions)

Skills/attributes required by successful candidate for the role of Quality Engineer:

• Proven experience programming and running CMMs using PC-DMIS –essential
• Previous experience in a QC/Quality Engineering role within a manufacturing environment
• Working knowledge of APQP (Control Plans, FMEA, PFMEA, and Process Flow documentation)
• Experience with Romer arm scanning (or similar portable CMM/scan arms)
• Structured problem-solving experience, including 8D complaint handling
• Attention to detail with a "right first time" mindset
• Be adaptable and willing to go the extra mile to meet tight deadlines
