Collins Aerospace is seeking a Quality Engineer to support the Space Systems business unit.
Collins Aerospace Systems is one of the world’s largest suppliers of technologically advanced aerospace and defense products. Our Space Systems business unit within Collins provides life support and thermal management systems including comprehensive integrated Environmental Control and Life Support System (ECLSS) solutions for NASA, government, and commercial customers. Our solutions enable International Space Station (ISS) missions, satellite and orbital destination platforms, and human mobility missions including current and next generation space suit programs. Our products and integrated mission systems offerings enable Low Earth Orbit (LEO), lunar, exploratory, and deep space platforms across a wide range of programs including NASA’s Artemis Program which will establish a sustainable presence on the Moon to prepare for missions to Mars.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Conduct processes to modify, apply, and maintain quality evaluation, control systems and protocols
  • Provide explanations of testing and inspection plans, methods and technologies to assure reliability and conformance of products and processes
  • Provide analysis and recommendations for corrective actions for nonconformities and/or design problems for internally produced products & processes
  • Review process control documentation to ensure it is in compliance with requirements, objectives, and/or contracts
  • Develop, modify, apply and maintain quality evaluation, control systems and protocols for materials being processed into partially finished or finished products
  • Ensure that projects and process control documentation are compliant with requirements, objectives and/or contracts
  • Develop proactive quality initiative strategies and drive their implementation
  • Perform Escape management procedures, root cause analysis, and recommends corrective action for design problems for internally produced products & processes
  • Design and implement product engineering changes to satisfy quality issues raised by customers
  • Work collaboratively with a cross functional team of Value Stream Lead (VSL), Operations, Engineering and Supply Chain to meet schedule, cost, and technical requirements
  • Review engineering drawings/specifications to ensure compliance with internal and customer requirements
  • Review and approve manufacturing and test procedures to ensure products meet internal and customer requirements
