Job Summary: Define, document, coordinate and implement, under the direction of the Quality Assurance Manager, all aspects of the Syntec Optics, Inc. ISO 9000:2015 and ISO 13485 Quality System.  Collect, edit, maintain and distribute all documents necessary to define product configuration and control manufacturing processes that ensure conformance to customer requirements. Function as an information source to various company departments when special and critical quality and quality systems issues occur. Develop and implement optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods at Syntec Technologies in accordance with product specifications and quality standards.  Implement improvements to production processes, methods and controls.   Essential Duties and Responsibilities: •    Perform duties as defined in division document control policies and procedures. •    Responsible for training of all department personnel to include new hire orientation, new equipment, or any new polices and procedures effecting the department, etc. •    Document and manage the flow of non-conforming material and the Corrective and Preventive Action database. •    Works closely with Production Supervisors to increase productivity and quality during product runs.  •    Undertakes major assignments regarding metrology equipment, comparison, capabilities and training.  •    Support program managers by participating in design development projects that ensure Quality Assurance and with an understanding of the customer needs. •    Conducts SPC, DOE, FEMA, capability studies in production and quality departments. •    Confers with Management, Production and Quality on manufacturing efficiencies, capabilities, and other considerations to facilitate production processes. •    Design, document and implement methods for metrology process control, process improvement, testing and inspection. •    Analyze production proficiencies, including cycle time, scrap breakdown and deadlines.   Implements improvement methods for cost effectiveness and run time. •    Conducts internal production audits within the production, project management and quality departments. •    Interfaces with supplier and customer representatives concerning problems with production, quality assurance and using judgement in implementing effective corrective action. •    Apply statistical methods and perform product/process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement, and improved efficiency. •    Perform RMS and wavelength measurements. •    Perform receiving inspections on purchased parts. •    Manage / store / IP data. •    Perform and manage  product C of C for shipping. •    Perform final inspections for top level parts. Additional Responsibilities: •    May cover for quality assurance personnel.  •    When requested, may work on special projects and various related assignments. •    Performs other related duties and assignments as required. •    Inspects incoming raw materials and outsourced secondary operations. •    Performs dock audits, randomly checking outgoing product. Education, Skills and Experience: •    Associates degree or equivalent in education and experience.  •    Minimum 2 years experience in quality systems auditing  •    Sound knowledge of standard measuring equipment •    Strong math skills •    Good oral and written communication skills. •    Strong organization skills. •    Must be familiar with computers and MS Office computer software. •    Work independently with minimal supervision.
