Description

SUMMARY:

Aeroseal is looking for a Quality Engineer that will assist us in our mission by developing, implementing, and maintaining quality standards for products and processes. This role involves analyzing production processes, identifying issues, ensuring compliance with quality standards, and continuously seeking improvements. The Quality Engineer will work closely with various teams, including production, design, and management, to ensure that quality is upheld across all stages of product development and manufacturing. This is a short-term, on-site position – 6 months with the potential to extend.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Quality Assurance, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: 2-5 years of experience in quality engineering or quality assurance, preferably in manufacturing.
  • Certifications: Six Sigma certification, or similar credentials are desirable.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in quality control tools and software.
  • In-depth knowledge of quality standards.
  • Experience with quality methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, and FMEA.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality products.
  • Working Conditions
  • Primarily an office environment with substantial hands-on work on the production floor.
  • May involve some travel for supplier audits or inspections.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours to meet project deadlines or address quality issues as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Quality Control and Assurance:
  • Create and drive CAPA projects to address various quality issues. Must be able to determine the true root cause, develop effective corrective actions, and drive the implementation effort to completion.
  • Design and develop quality control systems, quality assurance plans, and inspection processes to maintain standards.
  • Conduct internal audits, as well as supplier audits to meet company specifications.
  • Supplier Quality
  • Ensure PPAP’s are in place and approved prior to production for all custom parts.
  • Address supplier Escapes & Internal turn-backs through CAPA process and Root cause and corrective action
  • New Supplier Development - Identify and qualify alternate vendor technologies/ manufacturing processes/ materials
  • Providing guidance on process enhancements and improvements.
  • Reviewing engineering and manufacturing specifications.
  • Monitoring materials for defects.
  • New Product Introduction:
  • Create robust control plans
  • Ensure the PDP process is followed, and all elements are completed.
  • Evaluate beta test results and dealer feedback.
  • Determine the risk and liability of moving forward with product production based upon the beta build / results, manufacturability, and testing.
  • Process Improvement:
  • Evaluate and analyze production processes to identify areas for improvement.
  • Implement lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other quality improvement methodologies.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to streamline workflows, reduce waste, and enhance productivity.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain detailed records of corrective actions, inspections, and quality audits.
  • Prepare and present quality metrics, trends, and reports to management and stakeholders.
  • Ensure that all quality documentation meets industry standards.
  • Testing and Validation:
  • Develop and conduct tests to assess product quality, reliability, and performance.
  • Validate and calibrate testing equipment to maintain accuracy.
  • Oversee the implementation of testing protocols and ensure that products meet specifications before release.
  • Training and Team Collaboration:
  • Train staff in quality control procedures and best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, and supply chain, to resolve quality-related issues.
  • Participate in quality improvement projects and contribute to creating a culture of continuous improvement.
    The estimated pay range for this role is $70,000-80,000. Actual pay is based on various factors including, but not limited to, the successful candidate’s experience, skills, knowledge, and job location.
