QUALITY ENGINEER LOCATION: COLUMBUS, TX, 78935 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Interpret Design Engineering data (including blueprints, Bills of Material, Specs) and Customer requirements. Define ITP/ quality plans that may be required for manufacturing, sourcing or customer contracts. * Research and document quality improvements, cost-effective methods and process improvements. * Provide daily technical support to the total organization through the disposition of Quality Non-Conformance Reports (NCR's) and solving of shop floor problems with the primary focus on identification of root causes and correction of the process. * Corrective/preventive actions on internal and customer related issues. * Develop procedures, work instructions and forms necessary to comply with the quality system. * Investigate and implement special project assignments involving productivity and quality improvements. * Supports engineering and quality managers with customer interfaces as necessary on quality related issues. * Facilitates cross-functional failure mode root cause investigations and corrective /preventive actions. * Analyzes reports and returned products and takes corrective measures. * Assist in training new procedures and document the same. Maintain quality records. * Generate contract data packages as specified by contract requirements. * Statistically track non-conformance in specific process areas. * Conduct detailed review and approval of engineering drawings, including fabrication drawings, GA drawings, and associated documentation, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and manufacturability prior to release to the Authorized Inspector and production. * Perform thorough verification of pressure vessel calculations and design packages to ensure compliance with applicable ASME codes. * Ensure all designs, drawings, and documentation strictly adhere to customer specifications, project requirements, and contractual obligations before being released to the shop floor and Authorized Inspector.   Skills Requirements: * BS in Engineering, IE, ME or equivalent work experience in a related field. * 3-5 years of experience in Quality assurance or Engineering/Design. * Working knowledge of recognized standards and codes such as ASME, API, ASTM, and NACE. * Solid organization, problem-solving, decision-making, judgment, leadership, and team-oriented skills are essential to manage multiple projects. * Requires technical knowledge of the basics of manufacturing, engineering and quality assurance. * Internal and external Auditing experience.
Responsibilities
The Quality Engineer is responsible for interpreting design data, defining quality plans, and resolving shop floor non-conformance reports through root cause analysis. They also ensure all designs and documentation comply with ASME codes and customer specifications prior to production release.
