QUALITY ENGINEER TRAINEE Based on-site at our Long Beach Ca facility, the Quality Engineer Trainee we are looking for is an experienced person with basic engineering knowledge with a keen eye for detail and relentless pursuit of continuous improvement. Someone with experience in Quality Management Systems who embraces challenges and can inspire a team to exceed expectations. WHAT YOU'LL GET TO DO Support on Quality Management Systems documentation and implementation. Management of projects for continuous improvement and align with AS9100 standard. Identify gaps and opportunities in our quality processes and collaborate with team to implement improvement or corrective action. Support in reliable data collection to help with statistical understanding of our products. Participate or lead CAPA activities for hardware, process or documentation issues. Identifying processes failures and managing root causes of non-conformances. Support in creating internal and external quality control plans; specifically quality standards, processes and procedures. Support Inspection team on inspection plans or developing methodologies to streamline receiving inspection, in process or final. YOU’LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in engineering, quality management, or a related field. 2 + years of hands-on experience in aerospace or complex manufacturing environments. Understanding of quality management principles and methodologies (e.g., ISO standards, AS9100, Lean, Six Sigma). Understanding of GD&T and interpretation of technical drawings and specifications. THESE QUALIFICATIONS WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE: Excellent communication skills, capable of working collaboratively within the organization and external suppliers. Experience with analytical and problem-solving skills to identify root causes and implement effective solutions. Experience working with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. Basic level of experience using hand measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, depth gauges, feeler gauges, pine gauges, thread gauges, surface roughness measurement, etc. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to travel and communicate outside of work hours Must be able to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed Repetitive assembly operations, grasping, standing, lifting, bending, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, and carrying are generally required to perform the functions of this position. Must be able to move repetitively, bend or twist, and use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls. Must be able to walk or stand for extended periods – 8 hours min Must be able to lift up to 25lbs. unassisted. Level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
