Position Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Quality Engineering Intern to join our dynamic operations team for a 10–12 week internship. The Quality Engineering Intern will gain experience inside a live manufacturing environment, supporting Quality and ISO 9001 activities while learning how world-class products are built, tested, and continuously improved. This role offers hands-on exposure to manufacturing, product quality, and continuous improvement initiatives, while working closely with Quality, Engineering, and Production teams. The internship is fully onsite at our Jacksonville, FL facility and provides valuable experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Assist in collecting, analyzing, and monitoring quality and process metrics against established objectives Support preparation of quality-related reports and documentation for internal teams and management Participate in monitoring product performance and quality through data collection and basic statistical analysis Support PFMEA activities and new program implementation, including tooling and manufacturing processes Help review manufacturing processes to ensure compliance with customer, industry, and ISO 9001 requirements Assist with corrective and preventive action activities (internal and external) Support development and documentation of manufacturing and assembly process procedures Assist with internal audits and documentation of non-conformances and corrective actions Collaborate with Engineering and Production teams on continuous improvement initiatives Support failure analysis efforts related to production and assembly issues Help maintain department KPIs and quality records Participate in problem-solving activities using standard quality tools and methodologies Example Intern Projects (you will own 1-2 of these): Develop visual inspection guide for specific product lines. Conduct time study and recommend improvements for quality inspection process Lead data collection and analysis for defect reduction initiative Create training module for new quality inspection procedure Perform root cause analysis on top 3 recurring defects and present recommendations Update PFMEA & control plan documentation for new product introduction What You’ll Gain Exposure to ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems Hands-on experience with manufacturing quality processes and documentation Introduction to Six Sigma, SPC, PFMEA, root cause analysis, and corrective action processes Cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, Production, and Supply Chain teams Portfolio-worthy deliverables for graduate school or job applications Insight into industry standards such as IPC/WHMA-A-620, UL 891, 508A, and CSA standards. Qualifications Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or a related discipline Strong interest in manufacturing, quality assurance, and continuous improvement Basic understanding of quality concepts and problem-solving methods (coursework acceptable) Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize in a manufacturing environment Strong verbal and written communication skills Attention to detail and organization Willingness to learn and take initiative Professionalism and respect for confidentiality Must be legally authorized to work in Canada for duration of internship. Sponsorship is not available for this position. International students must have valid work authorization (CPT, co-op work permit, etc.) Ability to stand/walk for extended periods in manufacturing environment Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs Comfortable working in environment with noise, temperature variation, and moving machinery.
