Job Description The BAE Systems facility in Fort Wayne, IN, has operations spanning the commercial and defense aircraft electronics markets, producing engine and flight controls, flight deck systems, cabin systems, airborne tactical radios, electrical distribution, and wiring harnesses. In addition, the facility provides maintenance, repair, and overhaul support for more than 500+ worldwide commercial airline and military customers. In Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) Systems, you’ll help develop systems that sense, control, exploit and disseminate actionable information to warfighters supporting a variety of missions. BAE Systems is seeking a Quality Engineering Intern to support the Airborne Tactical Radio team during the Summer of 2026 and, possibly, part-time during the 2026-2027 academic year. Intern Responsibilities: Engage in First Article Inspections & Source Inspections Assist in conducting Root Cause and Corrective Actions Review current command media and provide suggestions for updates and process improvements Understand Quality standards and procedures. Participate and interact with other interns in sector wide activities. Develop understanding of BAE Systems Quality Management System. Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations and Engineering. In this position, you will also participate in BAE Systems' nationwide LEAP Internship & Co-op Program, where you will Learn, Engage, Apply, and Progress within the company. The LEAP Program will provide you with the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals on impactful projects, engage in career development opportunities, and network with our business leaders and the other students in the program. Required Education, Experience, & Skills Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in a technical field including (but not limited to) with an expected graduation date in 2026, 2027, or 2028: Systems Engineering Software – Computer Science Computer Engineering Hardware – Mechanical, Electrical Industrial Engineering Engineering Management Mathematics Physics Economics Information Systems Quality Management Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills Outstanding communication skills Demonstrated teamwork and leadership experience Capacity and motivation for hard work Experience in the defense electronics industry Familiarity with Lean and Six Sigma practices Knowledge of Quality Management Systems Relevant quality certifications Technical internships/co-ops Exposure to ISO 9001, CMMI, or AS9100 Has a Department of Defense Security Clearance Pay Information Full-Time Salary Range: $40973 - $55342 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience. Temporary employees generally are not eligible for BAE Systems benefits, but can elect to participate in the 401(k) savings plan.
