Description

DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

· Inspects and approves incoming materials by confirming specifications, reviewing supplier CoA/CoC or dimensional data, conducting visual and dimensional measurements, rejecting and segregating parts/materials that do not meet specifications for return to the supplier.
· Inspects in-process production by confirming specifications, conducting visual and dimensional measurements, communicating required adjustments to production supervisor, and segregating nonconforming parts to the HOLD area for disposition.
· Approves finished products by confirming specifications, conducting visual and dimensional measurements, and segregating nonconforming parts to the HOLD area.
· Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs.
· Keeps measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions and calibration requirements and reporting the need for repairs to the PPAP Coordinator.
· Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following safety standards and procedures.
· Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications.
· Monitors the production processes and reports issues that do not meet process or product requirements to the Quality Engineer and Production Supervisor for resolution.
· Resolve quality-related issues in a timely manner in coordination with the production team.
· Other essential duties as assigned.
· Knowledge of product safety requirements

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

· High school diploma or equivalent qualification is required.
· Certification in quality control through the ASQ is preferred.
· A minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role in an automotive parts manufacturing company is required.
· Experienced in part dimensional measurement skills using caliper, micrometer, pin gages, ring gages, is required.
· Working knowledge of MS Word and Excel is preferred.
· Good math and technical skills are required.
· Ability to read and understand blueprints is required.
· Experienced with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GDT) is preferred.
· Strong understanding of quality control standards and measurement techniques is required.
