Quality Inspector- Aerospace
EMPLOYEMENT TYPE: Contract-to-Hire
JOB SITE: Onsite in Woodinville, WA
PAY RATE RANGE: $22-30/hr
SHIFT: M-F 6:00 am-2:45pm
EXTENSION/CONVERSION: Eligible

POSITION SUMMARY

We are working alongside out aerospace manufacturing client who’s seeking a prominent Quality Inspector to provide assistance and direction to use predetermined methods, operations, setups, and prescribed specifications to perform in-process and completed inspections of products such as machine parts, mechanical assemblies, purchased standard hardware, and protective coatings. This includes verification of thermal processes (heat treat and eddy current inspections). Uses various measuring devices to perform required inspections and accepts or rejects malfunctioning or non-conforming units or systems. Follows blueprints, digital models, diagrams, or other customer specifications, and uses inspection instructions and checklists. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Observe and implement lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methods in all job assignments
  • Support Quality Inspectors 2–4 as directed
  • Enter data using Syteline/ESU or other ERP system as directed
  • Arrange inspection work queues to identify priority work, and move completed work to next staging area
  • Identify and segregate non-conforming product
  • Conduct product verification in accordance with inspection plans
  • Learn and develop knowledge of common inspection measuring equipment including, but not limited to: micrometers, height gauges, radius gauges, protractors, profilometers, bore gauges, dial indicators, surface plates, and Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM)/Scanners
  • Maintain attention to detail and follow instructions in all aspects of work
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Skills

  • Good knowledge and understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) methods per ASM 14.5
  • Proficiency with inspection measuring equipment (micrometers, gauges, profilometers, indicators, CMM/Scanners, etc.)
  • Basic PC skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
  • Ability to use ERP systems (Syteline/ESI preferred) after instruction
  • Strong blueprint reading and basic math skills
  • Good manual dexterity
  • Ability to communicate professionally and work cooperatively with others
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Basic English language skills with the ability to read, follow, and interpret planning and work order instructions
  • Willingness to learn, receive training, and train others as required

Required Experience & Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 2-3+ years of recent aircraft machine shop inspection experience preferred
