QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE
Associates Degree, Technical major - preferred
4+ years quality inspection experience within manufacturing industry
Must be able to read blueprints and familiar with a variety of test equipment
Awareness on Processes and Products delivered in the project
Experience in Quality / audit are appreciated
Rail Experience a “plus”
COMPETENCIES & SKILLS
Proficient with MS Office
Fluent in English
Rigor and Communication
Knowledge of Quality standard (ISO 9001, IRIS, CMMI, etc.) and quality tools
Experience in operational activities and in documentation management
Collaboration and team working
Responsibilities:
The Industrial Quality Inspector ensures the compliance of products and parts delivered by the ALSTOM facilities. He / She performs inspections, checks, tests, and sampling procedures according to the applicable instructions on products ready for delivery and on products during their manufacturing process. He / She validates manufacturing control plans. These control plans are written in close relationship with Project Management Execution teams.
Your main reponsibilities will be:
- In Process Inspection of Components, Assemblies and Vehicles to established criteria and specifications
- Record and report Inspection Status of components, assemblies and vehicles
- Perform Non-destructive Examination when Required and Qualified
- Maintain Inspection Records per Component, Assembly and Vehicle
- Initiate NCR’s for Noncompliant Product and Processes and actively participate in the follow up and resolution
- Report Program Quality Activities to Lead Inspector and recommend corrective and preventive action
- Maintain Inspection Records, Unit History Documentation, Vehicle History books
- Support Quality manager in the consolidation of the Car history book
- Participate in Customer Joint Inspections
- Problem solving between multiple departments and customer representatives
- Review past inspection data for critical information, repeat defects or problem areas
- Participate / Lead Corporate Initiatives and/or Special Projects/Assignments as required and/or directed
- Perform the duties associated with Tools and Test equipment calibration and crimper verification as required
- Review receiving/process traveler for pertinent data
- Approve rework, waivers and dispositions
- Initiate appropriate Quality improvement actions in support of Project’s Quality objectives
- Other responsibilities, in addition to those mentioned above, as assigned by supervisor/manager.
