At Balmoral Tanks Ltd, we’re proud to be a leading European engineering design and manufacturing company. We’re looking for a dedicated Quality Inspector to join our team and help us maintain the highest standards in everything we do.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We’re seeking someone with a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to quality. Ideally, you’ll bring:

  • Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Engineering or Inspection/Testing (desirable). Welding qualification is desirable (PCN Level 2 or CSWIP 3. Knowledge of Welding / welding processes is desirable
  • Experience:
  • Minimum 3 years in a quality inspection role within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Familiarity with steel fabrication, welding (MIG/TIG), and non-destructive testing.
  • Experience working with ISO 9001 and raising non-conformances.
  • Knowledge of welding processes and qualifications (PCN Level 2 or CSWIP 3.1) is a plus.
  • Skills: Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

As a key member of our Quality team, you’ll ensure that all products and components meet our rigorous quality standards before moving to the next stage of production or being dispatched to customers. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting inspections and tests on manufactured and purchased parts in line with drawings, ITPs, and work instructions.
  • Ensuring non-conforming products are identified, segregated, and reported using our internal systems.
  • Maintaining accurate inspection records—both paper and digital—for internal and customer review.
  • Collaborating with customers and third-party inspectors during on-site visits.
  • Supporting continuous improvement by raising non-conformances and contributing to quality initiatives.
  • Participating in internal and external audits.
  • Assisting with training on inspection methods when needed.
