Description

Summary
We’re hiring a Quality Inspector with hands-on Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI) experience to support off-shift production. You’ll execute the full FPI process, interpret indications against acceptance criteria, and document results to ensure product quality and traceability. Certifications (NAS-410/ASNT) are a strong plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform end-to-end FPI per work instructions (pre-clean, apply penetrant, dwell, remove, dry, develop, UV-A inspection, interpret/grade indications).
  • Verify and record process controls (UV light intensity checks, ambient light limits, developer/penetrant batch control, system performance checks).
  • Interpret indications to blueprint/spec requirements; identify nonconformances and route parts per MRB procedures.
  • Complete inspection reports, travelers, and ERP entries with full traceability.
  • Use basic dimensional tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges) to confirm features as required.
  • Maintain 5S/housekeeping and adhere to EHS standards (UV eye protection, chemical handling/PPE).
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and QA to clarify criteria, containment, and corrective actions.

Qualifications

  • FPI experience required (Level I/II tasks under appropriate supervision if not certified).
  • Ability to read blueprints, work instructions, and acceptance criteria; strong attention to detail.
  • Comfortable documenting results accurately and working to takt/throughput goals.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and recordkeeping.
  • Color-vision sufficient for FPI; able to stand for extended periods and lift up to ~40–50 lbs.

Preferred

  • Certifications: NAS-410 or ASNT (Level I/II in PT/FPI).
  • Exposure to aerospace/turbine or precision manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with additional methods (VT, basic dimensional inspection, coating/finish criteria).

Schedule

  • Shift: 2nd or 3rd shift with potential overtime.
  • Type: Contract-to-Hire or Direct Hire.

Why Join

  • Work with critical, high-precision parts in a quality-driven environment.
  • Clear growth paths (advanced NDT methods, Level II/III progression, QA lead).

Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
