Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quality Inspector to join our precision machine shop. The ideal candidate will ensure that all manufactured parts and assemblies meet strict quality standards, engineering specifications, and customer requirements. This role is crucial for maintaining our commitment to high-quality production and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities:

  • Perform Inspections:.Conduct in-process and final inspections of machined components using precision measurement tools and equipment.
  • Blueprint Reading:.Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications, including complex Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Coordinate Measurements:.Set up and program Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMMs) for automated part verification and data collection.
  • Record & Document:.Document inspection results, maintain accurate quality records, and generate required quality assurance reports.
  • Problem Solving:.Collaborate with machinists and engineers to identify root causes of quality issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Equipment Calibration:.Ensure the calibration and maintenance of all production and quality control gauges and equipment.
  • Process Improvement:.Provide feedback to production and engineering teams to drive continuous improvement in quality processes.
  • QMS Compliance:.Adhere to all quality management system requirements (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9102).

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a quality inspector in a CNC machine shop environment.
  • Proficiency in interpreting technical blueprints, drawings, and GD&T.
  • Experience with various precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, CMMs).
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and fundamental mathematical skills.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; certification in machine shop technology is a plus.
