Quality Inspector   The Company:   HF Custom (formerly known as Sam Moore Furniture), a division of Hooker Furnishings Corporation (NASDAQ: HOFT), is currently recruiting for a Quality Inspector to work in our plant in Bedford, VA. Hooker Furnishings Corporation, in its 101st year of business, is a designer, marketer, and importer of case goods (wooden and metal furniture), leather furniture, and fabric-upholstered furniture for the residential, hospitality, and contract markets. * We have a family-focused culture. * We are committed to giving back to our community. * We believe in our product and craft each piece of furniture with the utmost pride and care.   The Position:   The Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring that furniture products meet company quality standards throughout various stages of the production process, including finishing, assembly, sewing, cutting, upholstery, and final inspection before release to shipping. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong communication skills, who can confidently address quality concerns with production team members across multiple departments.   Key Responsibilities: * Conduct inspections in Upholstery areas to ensure compliance with quality standards. * Perform in-process inspections and post-inspections to verify consistency and quality at multiple points. * Inspect frames to confirm accuracy, integrity, and correct alignment within production lineups. * Inspect finishing work to confirm correct stain, paint, and coating applications. * Inspect upholstery craftsmanship, including tufting, welts, stitching, trim, and overall fit and finish. * Verify sewing quality, ensuring stitches are even, durable, and consistent with specifications. * Walk upholstery production lines as needed to verify in-process compliance. * Conduct final inspections to confirm that all finished furniture pieces meet company and customer standards prior to shipment. * Communicate clearly and professionally with team members and supervisors about any issues or rework that must be addressed. * Ensure proper labeling, tagging, and routing of approved products. * Collaborate with Quality Control, Supervisors, and Production team members to address ongoing quality concerns. * Maintain an organized inspection process and promote smooth product flow across departments.   Qualifications: * Strong attention to detail and ability to identify subtle quality issues across multiple production areas. * Good communication skills and professionalism when delivering constructive feedback. * Basic computer skills for recording inspection data. * Ability to work independently and take initiative in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. * Experience in furniture manufacturing or upholstery is preferred but not required.     Physical Requirements: * Frequent standing and walking throughout the day. * Ability to lift and move furniture as needed (up to 50 lbs). * Reaching, bending, and crouching required during inspections.
