Job Summary Inspects a variety of incoming materials, parts and packaged goods to determine if they meet established specifications. Audits bulk material pulled from inventory to produce finished packaged goods as well as performs in-process inspections to identify quality issues. Documents variances and assists with the proper disposition of non-conforming material. Essential Job Functions * Performs visual and/or dimensional inspections on incoming and in-process product Performs regular visual in-process inspections – inspects finished product to determine if it complies with engineering specifications and customer requirements, communicates quality issues to the manufacturing/production staff. Inspects pending packaging work orders to verify correct product, quantity, packaging and labeling quality Maintains accurate inspection and auditing records and procedure manuals. Accurately documents non-conforming material and creates non-conforming material reports using the NCMR system. Maintains a clean and organized work environment, follows safety policies and procedures, and reports unsafe conditions to Supervisor. Uses calipers, laser micrometers, thread gauges, surface plates, drop indicators, height gauges, gauge blocks, eye loupes, micrometers, steel rulers, hand trucks and pallet jacks to perform work. * This job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee. Ability to read and interpret basic drawings, good math, and analytical skills Operational Equipment N/A Work Environment and Physical Demands Work Environment Quality Control: Fast-paced, standing on concrete floors up to 8 hrs/day. Exposure to loud noise. Functional vision and hearing required. Physical Demands Quality Control: Medium, lifting up to 70 lbs., pushing/pulling up to 70 lbs.
