Helping our customers put stuff in space is our specialty, and we have a blast doing it. Which is where you come in: We have an opening for an out-of-this-world Quality Inspector II.
The Quality Inspector is responsible for performing inspections per all internal and external requirements, and to support internal customers in need of inspection support. Are you ready to launch into an impactful and interesting role? We’re excited to work with you.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING (ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES):
- Ability to plan intermediate to advanced inspections using CMM, vision systems, surface plate tools, and hand tools
- Ability to interpret the majority of GD&T symbols on intermediate and advanced drawings
- Ability to program a CMM and run a CMM program; and interpret results.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to work effectively with a team and independently as needed to support the group effort.
- Ability to perform basic hand tool calibration procedure desired.
- Basic reading, writing, computer skills such as log on, data entry, and retrieval.
- High attention to detail.
YOUR EXPERIENCE (MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS):
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 4 years of experience in a related field
- Bachelor’s degree in related field may substitute for relevant experience
- Experience preferred within a 3rd-party-audited manufacturing Quality Management System (ISO 9001, AS9100, Nadcap, ISO/TS 16949, ISO 13485, ISO 17025, or similar)
- Ability to interpret all drawings and GD&T symbology
- Must provide proof of US citizenship or permanent residency to comply with ITAR requirements.
- Ability to pass a drug screen per Custom Microwave, Inc.’s drug testing policy.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check per Custom Microwave, Inc.’s policy.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The manufacturing facility is more than 56,000 square feet. Workers may be exposed to loud noises, chemicals, and other occupational hazards; personal protective equipment may be provided by The Company and at request.
- Must be able to work at a computer workstation 50% of day.
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery; repetitive motions include, but are not limited to, keyboarding and data entry operations.
- Must be able to intermittently stand and walk for longer than 30 minutes throughout the work shift.
- May require occasional utilization of stairs and/or ladder.
- May require occasional bending, squatting, kneeling, and crouching to access work supplies.
- This position involves extensive internal and external communication; ability to utilize a phone and convey accurate information in person, over the phone, and through email.
- Must be able to see in artificial/fluorescent lighting.
- May require occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
