If you're looking for growth, variety, and a challenge, this is the opportunity for you! The Inspector must have a strong background in dimensional inspection and machining methods. Able to use a variety of hand inspection tools to conduct inspections. Must be able to interpret manufacturing drawings and understands GD&T. Ability to conduct casting and weldment layout inspections is a requirement. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are a must. Computer skills are required. This is a floor position that will require standing throughout the day. What You’ll Do: The main function of the Inspector will be to verify conformance to drawing and specifications. Specific responsibilities will include the following: Conduct first piece inspections when requested by manufacturing personnel. This inspection will take place in accordance with Machining Concepts’ First Piece Inspection procedures and work instructions. Program and operate the CMM (PC-DMIS) to provide inspection Interpret CMM output to provide clear evidence of our meeting specifications and/or provide clear direction for the machinist and manufacturing team. Conduct receiving inspection functions in accordance with Machining Concepts’ Receiving Inspection procedure and work instructions. Conduct final inspection functions in accordance with Machining Concepts’ Final Inspection procedure and work instructions. Audit in-process inspections when directed. Report results of all inspections to machinists and plant supervision. Initiate NCRs for out-of-tolerance conditions. Conduct casting and weldment layout inspections as directed. Create accurate inspection reports as required. Set up inspection gages when requested by machinists. Other duties as needed Requirements What We’re Looking For: Skills and Competencies: Strong background in dimensional inspection and machining method. Able to use a variety of hand inspection tools to conduct inspections. Must be able to interpret manufacturing drawings and understands GD&T. Ability to conduct casting and weldment layout inspections is a requirement. Ability to operate and/or program (PC-DMIS) a CMM. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are a must. Computer skills are required. Education: This position requires a high school diploma or GED. Experience and/or Training: 3 - 5 years of experience in quality inspection required, preferably in a machining or fabrication environment
