JOB DESCRIPTION:

Quality Inspector will perform regular product evaluations, record inspection results, and recommend improvements to the production process. As the quality inspector, you will uphold the safety regulations of our company to guarantee that all our products meet quality expectations. To excel in this role, QC Inspector must demonstrate great attention to detail with excellent technical and math abilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education level: High School Diploma/GED
  • Experience: 3-5 years of quality assurance experience, Welding and machining background is preferred.
  • IMP is a drug-free workplace. Employees must be able to pass a pre-employment, fit-for-duty physical including a drug screen.
  • ASQ certification very helpful, but not required
  • Blue print reading and GD&T interpretation
  • Must be able to calibrate and use precision inspection devices
  • Ability to layout and inspect metal fabricated components and assemblies
  • Mechanical skills/aptitude.
  • Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office.
  • Comfortable with the use of hand and power tools.
  • Read tape measure to the 1/16th of 1 inch.
  • Must have strong math skills
  • Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Compute rate, ratio, and percent and draw/interpret bar graphs.
  • Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication skills, both oral and written
  • Must be detail oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Self-directed/self-starter - project completion skills with limited direction and guidance
  • Must be able to follow company safety and quality control policies and procedures.
  • Must be a team player receptive to change and cross functional training.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule including overtime.

Responsibilities
  • Inspect in-process and completed products to production drawings on the shop floor and in the field (at Managers discretion).
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints with in depth GD&T callouts.
  • Must be able to calibrate and use mechanical precision inspection devices.
  • Provide recommendations in the resolution of quality issues.
  • Provides support to other team members.
  • Follow company safety policies and procedures at all times.
  • Complete paperwork for quality documentation procedures.
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating, maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
  • Read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Adhere to 5S practices maintaining a safe, clean and organized work environment.
  • Active involvement and support of Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Implement, maintain and continually improve the effectiveness of the company’s quality management system.
  • Perform Other duties as assigned.
